Master Charles Hwang
Master Charles Hwang was born in Korea, and
began his Martial Arts training at the age
of nine. His training began with Taekwondo,
then he moved to Kickboxing, and later to
Hapkido. Master Hwang was lucky to learn
Hapkido from Young Sul Choi, who is known as
a father of this style.
In 1982 he held the title of World Heavy
Weight Kickboxing Champion at the World
Amateur Kickboxing Tournament.
In 1997 he started teaching the SRT -
Special Reaction Team - of the 728th
Military Police Battalion.
In 2005, Master Hwang got a gold medal on a
World Cup Martial Art Competition held in
Milano, Italy.
As of now, he has an 8th degree black belt
in Hapkido and a 7th degree black belt in
Kickboxing (Kwon Kyuk Do Style). He also has
a 7th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a
6th degree black belt in Kendo. Grand Master
Hwang was honored with a 7th degree black
belt in Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi. He is
also a Hwarang Sword Master as well as
certified Sports Massage Therapist.
